74, 427 West Maple St., Stanley, WI died Friday, October 26, 2001
at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, WI. Marie was born in
Minnesota on February 27, 1927 the daughter of Anton and Margaret
(Benzschawel) Micke. She came to the Thorp area as a young girl and
grew up there and attended area schools. On September 11, 1946, she
was united in marriage to Frank Ciokiewicz at St. Bernard’s
Catholic Church in Thorp, WI. They lived in Thorp for a short time
before moving to Stanley where she has lived since. She was a
member of Holy Family Parish and the Ladies Aid. Beside her great
love for her family she enjoyed her sewing and baking. She is survived by
her children: Carol (Dick) Gilles, Larry (Barb), Darlene Walters,
all of Stanley, WI and Janet Ciokiewicz of Minneapolis, MN, David
(Donna), Jerry (Peggy), Allen (Renata), Sandy (Brad) Schneider and
Cindy (Steve) Kolpien all of Stanley, WI; one brother Norbert Micke
of Chippewa Falls, WI and two sisters: Loretta (Wally) Olinski of
Waukesha, WI and Rachell (Gene) Hill of Florida. She is also
survived by 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. She was
preceded in death by her father Anton, husband Frank in 1994 and
one grandson, Tracey. Funeral Services
were held Tuesday, October 30, 2001, 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family
Catholic Church in Stanley, WI with Father Robert Nelson
officiating. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were:
Steve Kolpien, Brad Schneider, Loren Ciokiewicz, Tom Mock, Steve
Olinski and Tim Troyer. Visitation was Monday, October 29 from 4:00
