Lenling, Paul (29 JAN 1888 - 5 OCT 1908)

On Monday morning news of the death of Paul Lenling reached this village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) barbed with pain and sorrow. He had been employed for some time at Wausau and was taken to the hospital at that place to have an operation performed for appendicitis on Tuesday, Sept. 22nd, and on Monday, Oct. 5, 1908, died at a little after one o'clock in the morning.

The deceased was a man of excellent habits and fine moral character, was well known and very popular with all and will be missed by those who knew him well. He worked for L. I. Cysewski for four years and had but recently passed the examinations in the Pharmacy school at the Milwaukee Medical College and was holding a good position in the Albers Pharmacy at Wausau, just beginning to rise in his chosen profession, only to be taken by the Grim Reaper.

The subject of this memorial was born in Fond du Lac Co. and at the time of his death was in his twentieth year.

To the broken-hearted father, mother, sisters and brothers who sit in sorrow where his footsteps never again find echo, we extend our heartfelt sympathy.

The last services were held at the Lutheran Church yesterday afternoon at half past one o'clock, Rev. William Lange officiating. Songs were touchingly rendered by the choir. The flowers were many and beautiful. Flowers seem to be the best emblem we have to express our love, for we wreathe them around the cradle, the marriage altar and the tomb.

The remains were laid to rest in the Loyal Union Cemetery.
