Williams, Floyd (1896 - 19 OCT 1908)
Floyd Williams, the twelve-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Williams, who but a few weeks ago moved to Winnebago from this village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.), on Monday, Oct. 19, 1908, of appendicitis. He was on his way to school on an automobile dray and in jumping off injured himself, which turned into appendicitis. Three doctors attended him but could not help him. He was born in this village and was beloved by his schoolmates.
The following is taken from the Oshkosh Northwestern: "The funeral services of the late Floyd Williams, the twelve-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Williams, were held at the residence at Winnebago Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Edward H. Smith of the First Congregational Church of this city officiating. The music was rendered by Miss Schriber and Miss Whittemore, with Miss Crawford as accompanist. The pallbearers were Clifford Keese, Carl Gruender, Harold James and Harry Hayes, all schoolmates of the deceased. Interment was at Brooks' Cemetery. Floyd was a bright boy and his death is a great shock to the parents and friends. He was only ill for a few days with appendicitis, but the attack was so severe from the first, that medical skill was unavailing to save him."
