Courtney, Mrs. R. L. (24 Sep 1826 - 12 Jan 1909)
Died, at the home of H. Draper in this village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) on Tuesday at noon, Mrs. R. L. Courtney at the age of eighty-three years.
Deceased was born in Allegheny Co., N. Y., on Sep 24, 1826, and came to Hixton, Jackson Co., Wis. in the spring of 1856, and located on a farm. Thirteen years ago last December she came to Clark County and made her home with her sister, Mrs. H. Draper, where she passed away of old age. Her husband preceded her in death twenty-one years ago.
Her life was completed if work all done and well done constitutes completions. She has left us and today another grave hides from our sight all that is mortal of a true and noble woman.
She leaves to mourn her loss four sisters, Mrs. C. E. Clement, Mrs. F. F. Clement, and Mrs. Susan E. Cameron, all of New York, and Mrs. H. Draper of this village and two brothers, J. C. Clement and Carloss Clement of New York.
Funeral services were held at the Draper home on Wednesday afternoon at three o'clock and the remains taken to Hixton to be laid beside those of her husband on Thursday morning.
