Arms, James (15 SEP 1841 - 31 May 1909)

James Arms, formerly an old and respected citizen of this vicinity (Clark County, Wis.), died at his home in Woodburn, Oregon on May 31, 1909, of dropsy at the age of 68 years.

Deceased was born Sept. 15, 1841, in New York and was an old settler in this vicinity for about forty years and owned a farm three miles from this village on the Spokeville road for a number of years, which he had rented. A year ago last fall he went to Woodburn, Oregon, where he passed away.

He has many friends here who, have nothing but kind words to say of him. He was a practical, matter-of-fact man, but had his own peculiar way of extracting merriment from life as it went along and he was not disposed to worry about matters that could be better in other ways. He was invariably a good neighbor and his family circle a happy one.

He leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn his loss in this village and vicinity.
