100 Years Ago 04 Oct. 1902 Three members of the city council and three members of the board of education have been appointed to look into the matter of a new school building and report to the council. Appointed to the task are aldermen Sneen, Potter and Lien; from the board of education are Allington, Burns and Hoidahl. - - - - - - 70 Years Ago 30 Sept. 1932 Scoutmaster Jack Amacker announces that the Stanley Boy Scout Troop will try to revive the old drum and bugle corps the town had about 10 - 12 years back.

The Prime Cheese Company Plant, which has been closed for several months, has been sold to F. J. Mathews and will be put into operation beginning tomorrow, Oct. 1. Mr. Matthews has been operating a cheese factory at Boyd for several years is a well known and skilled cheesemaker and thinks he can make a success of the Prime Plant. - - - - - 60 Years Ago 02 Oct. 1942 A speed limit of 35 miles per hour became effective yesterday on Wisconsin highways. - - - - - - - 40 Years Ago 04 Oct. 1962 Mrs. Richard Duce of Eau Claire will be the new owner of the modern Beauty Salon here, effective Oct. 15. Mrs. Kenneth carlson, owner of the business, announced its sale this week. The Carlsons are moving to Prescott to be closer to Mr. Carlson's job with Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing.

Six FFA members, representing Stanley-Boyd High School, were in Waterloo, Iowa, this week for National Dairy Congress. Accompanied by their advisor, Clifford Nenzel, the boys were Earl Mathison, Truman Felix, Eugene Folczyk, Don Samplawski, Dean Samuelson and Bob Ebben.
