The logging interest is booming.
Mr. Eaton is doing a clean business by way of laying in a stock of wash-boards,. A few less than a hundred dozen of the latest pattern can now be seen on his shelves.
The new stage line from Neillsville to Withee is doing a good business. The gentlemanly proprietor is one of the most accommodating men we ever knew.
The bridge contract, between Easton and Warner, was let yesterday to S. M. Andrews for fifteen hundred dollars. Mr. Andrews is a substantial man and will build a substantial bridge. Mr. Clark’s children, five in number, were dangerously sick a few days ago with diphtheria. All are now in a fair way to recover. Dr. Thomas is boss in handling this disease.
Weston & Scholfield have a new book-keeper in the person of a Forest Smith, of La Crosse.
