Last Tuesday evening a man named Frank Garland was delivered to Sheriff Philpott by an officer from the town of Thorp. The prisoner is charged with the theft of $100, and he is held for trial at the Circuit Court.
Loula Weeler who broke jail at this place a year or more ago, returned last Saturday and was taken into custody and landed in jail to serve out the remainder of his sentence, twenty-seven days of which still remains. His sentence was for being drunk and disorderly, and it did not take him long to demonstrate after his return that he had not materially improved in that respect since he was sent up on that charge, as that was his condition when he was taken back to receive the remainder of his punishment he deserves. In breaking jail he committed an offence that entitles him to a position at Waupun, and it is possible that he May be given the benefit thereof.
