Salsbury, Mary Jane (24 OCT 1829 - 2 NOV 1910)
Mrs. John Salsbury died at 5 o'clock yesterday morning, Nov. 2, 1910, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Merrill, at the age of eighty-one years.
Mary Jane Gordon was born in Bedford Co., Pa., Oct. 24, 1829. She moved to Indiana with her parents at the age of sixteen and was married Oct. 25, 1849, to J. Salsbury, of this union was born one daughter. They came to Clark County, Wis. in 1866 and settled on a farm in the town of Sherman, and moved to Loyal about eleven years ago. She had been a member of the M. E. Church for the past 50 years.
"Grandma" will be sadly missed by her many friends. Although in very poor health she was not confined to her bed. The evening before she died she sat in her accustomed chair and knit industriously and retired at the usual hour, she was taken sick at midnight and died at five o'clock in the morning.
She leaves to mourn her loss a husband, one daughter and two grandchildren, Mrs. Greely of Loyal and Menzo Merrill of Tripoli. She also leaves three brothers and three sisters, all of Nappanee, Indiana.
