Heideman, Roland L (17 March 1909-9 July 1983)

WINNECONNE -- Roland L. Heideman, 74, of Winneconne, and father of Mrs. Jim (Betty) Birchler of Marshfield and a brother of Mrs. Charles (Tekla) Anderson and Lyman Heidemann, both of Neillsville, died unexpectedly July 9.

Services were Tuesday at St. Therese Catholic Church, Winneconne. The Rev. Cyril Van Heeswyck officiated. Burial was in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

He was born March 17, 1909 in Thorp. He had been an Appleton resident for many years, until moving to Winneconne in 1977, Prior to his enlistment in the U.S. Armu during World War II, he operated Dutch's Lunch. During the was he served with the Fist Battalion, 127th Infantry, 32nd Division, in the South Pacific, and continued his military career with the National Guard until he retired in 1965.

He retired from the Appleton Post Office in 1974, after 24 years of service. Mr. Heideman was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Winneconne, Johnston-Blessman American Legion Post No. 38, and the Catholic Was Veterans, both of Appleton.

Survivors also include his wife, Rosemary Pedarski Bixby Heideman, to Whom he had been married since 1952; two step-sons, two other brothers one other sister, and 10 grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Betty (Stark) in 1949, and two brothers.
