Joseph Mack, an old resident of the town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis., died on Friday, Dec. 8, 1911.
The deceased came to Clark County when but two years old with his parents, there being only one white settler, Daniel Mack, here at that time, who later moved to Monroe Co., leaving him and his parents the only white settlers this side of Black River Falls.
He was a devoted husband and a kind and indulgent father. He ran the journey of his live in fifty-six years. It is a path marked with deeds of kindness and cheer. No one entered his home without a warm welcome nor left without feeling the warmth of a genuine hospitality, so characteristic of the people of our ancestry.
He leaves to mourn a wife, three sons, Paul, Walter and Grover, and three daughters, Esther, Maud and Blanche.
The funeral services were held at the M. E. Church on Sunday afternoon at two o'clock and the remains buried in the M. E. Cemetery.
