Gardner, Elizabeth (30 OCT 1830 - 21 Apr 1912)

Died, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Dorn, in this village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) on Sunday afternoon, April 21, 1912, Mrs. Elizabeth Gardner, at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 22 days.

She was born in Germany on Oct. 30, 1830, and was married to Wolf Gardner in 1850. They came to this country in 1853 and settled in New York. Five years later they moved to Ontario, Canada, where they resided for about fifteen years, when they moved to the town of York, Clark County, Wis., and lived there until three years ago, when she moved to this village and made her home with her daughter, Mrs. William Dorn.

After a long and busy life she died as she lived, honored, trusted and loved. To them were born three sons and four daughters, John, George, Arthur, Mary, Annie, Carrie and Bertha, all of which are living except Carrie, who died eight years ago. She has been a devoted Christian the greater part of her life and leaves many friends to mourn her loss.

The funeral services were held at the William Dorn home yesterday morning at ten o'clock, and the remains buried in the M. E. Cemetery.
