Kuehmichel, Lena (30 July 1891-15 July 1983)
Services will be Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church for Mrs. Lena Kuehmichel, 91
who died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She had been residing at the
Marshfield Convalescent Center the past 3 1/2 years.
The Rev. Robert C. Reinhardt will officiate and burial will be in Hillside
Cemetery. Soloists will be Bruce A. Jensema and Duane S. Helgerson. Grandsons
will be pallbearers. Visitations will be at Hansen Funeral Home.
The former Lena Behling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fredrick (Minnie Haback)
Behling, was born July 30, 1891 in the Town of Seif, Clark County. She attended
Globe School in Clark County was raised in that area.
She and Charles Kuehmichel were married May 6, 1909 in Neillsville. After their
marriage, they located in Marshfield and lived here since. She worked for
Central Cheese for 17 years, retiring in 1958 Her husband died November 7, 1937.
A member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Mrs Kuehmichel is survived by nine
children, Karl Kuehmichel, Mosinee; Mrs. Harvey (Norma) Struck, Merrill; Mrs.
Marvin (Dorothy) Wichman, Hillsboro, Oregon; Elmer Kuehmichel, Merrill; Arthur
Kuehmichel, Gresham, Oregon; Mrs. Alfred (Lorraine) Dix, Portland, Oregon; Mrs.
Donald (Esther) Bruchhauser, Milwaukee; Mrs. Myron (Doris) Sutor, Marshfield;
and Richard Kuehmichel, Portland, Oregon. There are 55 grandchildren, 51
great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased bu four sons, four
grandchildren and several brothers and sisters.
