Parkel-Dernovsek Wedding

Before a beautifully fern and gladiola banked alter at the Holy Cross Catholic church of Cornell, Miss Mary Dernovesek, daugher of Mr. and Mrs. Lucas Dernovsek of Sheldon and Frank Parkel, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parkel of Greenwood exchanged marriage vows at a High Mass Saturday morning, September 5, at 10:00 o'clock. The double ring ceremony being performed by Rev. Richard E. Lang which was accompanied by the soft tones of the organ and singing by the church choir.

The lovely bride was gowned in a beautiful white satin trimmed in pearls and a veil of tulle which was caught in cap effect adorned in seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of white roses and baby's breath.

Miss Mayme Parkel, sister of the groom, acted as maid of honor. She was attired in peach taffeta carrying a bouquet of peach roses and baby's breath. Miss Helen Dernovsek and Miss Donna Marie Parkel, who acted as bridesmaid were attired in bucaneer green taffetta, made in the same effect as that of the miad of honor's. They carried bouquets of peach roses and asters.

Lucas Dernovsek, brother of the bride, attended the groom with Mike Podobnik and Andrew Dernovsek acting as suhers, all of whom were diressed dark suits.

Little Berne Jean Pobdobnik, niece of the groom, and Little Emma Dernovsek, sister of the bride, who served as flower girls were dressed in peach taffetta carring like baskets of mixed flowers.

The mother of the bride was attired in a brown ensemble and mother of the groom in navy blue.

After the ceremony a reception and dinner took place at the bride's home in Sheldon, where about 150 guests were served and entertained. The only table decorations were candles.

Out of own guests were: Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wright and sons, Raymond and Robert of Elk Mound; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Vertnik and daughter Shirley of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. George Hoehne, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Podobnik, daughter Mille and son Mike, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Parkel and family, Mr. and Mrs. Aug. Podobnik and children of Greenwood; Father Richard E. Lang and miss Anne Lange of Holcomb; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Bartelt and son Allen and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Wainring of Milwaukee; Miss Helen Parkel of Eau Claire; Mr. Frank Novak and daughter Sophie and son Frank of Millston; Mr. and Mrs. Mike Krulc and family, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bergant and Martin and John Matovich all of willard; Mr. and Mrs. John McGillivray and daughter Eleanor, Miss Barbara Novak, Lawrence and Eva Munich of Chippewa Falls.

The Gleaner joins their friends in extending best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
