In Memroy of "Mother" By: Elsie Abel

Mother dear, Our Father has called you home The call came o're the distant hill; Like a dream, sad, but oh how ture Now a voice we lived is still.

God granted you a life so talented, To find in each day joy and pleasure; For the many kind deeds done for us God has laid away for you a treasure.

As we stood out upon that rugged shore In the hour of your funeral knell; Though lased with waves of grief, we heard a voice Within the sound of distant bells.

The same voice mother, that beconded "come" Speaks now our hearst to ease, As proudly, we waved farewell to you Sweet memories drifted in the breeze.

Where our shepherd leads, our hearts abide. No more with us this earth you'll roam For an Angel came and took your had Because, Our Father called you home.

Now your work worn hands, "Oh Mother" dear Lay folded near your breast May he who knows, and sends his grace Grant you now eternal rest.

Forgive, Oh Lord, where we have failed, She is now within thy care; "Faith," lets the light of "Heaven" shine Upon your vacant chair.

"Elsie"

A touching poem, one of which we can all partake.

I am formerly of Medford and Perkinstown, and my father had a "Watkins" route yrs ago that touched Clark & Chippewa as well as Taylor Counties.
