Mauer, Mrs. Michael (6 Dec 1840 - 27 OCT 1913)
Died, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Geiger, in this village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) on Monday evening at nine o'clock, after an illness of three months, Mrs. Michael Mauer, of breakdown and old age.
Had she lived until next Dec. 6th, she would have been seventy-three years old. She came to this country from Bavaria, Germany, with her husband thirty-two years ago and settled on a farm near Marshfield, where they resided until the death of her husband on Dec. 26, 1911. Shortly afterward she came here and since has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. John Geiger.
Adhering to the faith of her fathers, she united with the Catholic Church in early life and lived to attend its services when health permitted. But she has left us and today the autumn leaves fall upon another grave that hides from our sight all that is mortal of a good woman.
She leaves two sons, Joseph of Stevens Point and Henry of Bakerville, and five daughters, Mrs. John Geiger of this village, Mrs. Anton Leinwander of Marshfield, Mrs. Frank Kraemer of Hewett, Mrs. John Stangel of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. John Eckert of Milwaukee.
The remains were taken to Marshfield yesterday and funeral services were held at the St. John's Catholic Church today, and the remains laid by the side of her husband who preceded her in death.

I am trying to work on my family tree and I am searching for family who May have some history for me. My father who was born in Brooklyn, NY was the son of Herman Mauer. He had a brother, I believe his name was Henry and I know he once lived in Pittsburg, PA Please correspond with me to help me determine if there is a connection because my father's family came from Bavaria too. Thank you. Sincerely, Lise Mauer Coan
