Knickle, Herbert W. (7 Feb 1897 - 29 Dec 1913)

Herbert William Knickle was born in Seymour, Wis., Feb. 7, 1897, and came with his parents to Clark County, Wis. in May 1901. He was called from the scenes of this earth on Dec. 29, 1913 at 11:45 in the evening at the age of 16 years, 10 months and 22 days. The funeral was held at the Presbyterian Church of Veefkind, Clark County at two p.m. Jan. 2nd, 1914.

He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, a sister, three brothers, relatives and a host of friends. Loved ones desire to express their gratitude to friends and neighbors for their kindness during his illness and after his decease.

Among the relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Knickel, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Knickel, Mr. Dave Knickel, Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Williams of Campbellsport, Mr. Wm. Straub of La Crosse, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Straub of Colby and Mr. and Mrs. Wendell of Spencer.

Thus has a young life passed out of the reach of the threatening storms that often rage on life's restless sea for he has cast his anchor in the harbor of peace.
