NOV 1823 - 21 Augl 1914) Last Friday, Aug.
21, 194, a cloud of sorrow was cast over our entire community by
the death of one of its pioneer residents, Mrs. Eliza Barber, who
passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Gwin, at the
age of 90 years, 8 months and 24 days. Mrs. Barber was
born in Rome, N.Y. Nov. 28, 1823. She has resided at Loyal, Clark
County, Wis. for the past 32 years. She was a woman with a
beautiful mind and character and her death is mourned by the entire
community. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J. C. Gwin of our
village and Mrs. E. E. Stevens of Minneapolis. The funeral was
held at the residence Monday afternoon, Rev. Thomas Harris
