McLeod, James (15 AUG 1831 - 20 Feb 1914)
Mr. James McLeod, pioneer resident of Clark County, Wis., passed away last Friday afternoon at the home of Byron Stevens of Spokeville, Clark County. Mr. McLeod was a man of good character and habits, and was liked by all who knew him. He lived a quiet and peaceful life, was friendly to every body and always was ready with a helping hand.
Mr. McLeod was born On Aug. 15, 1831, at parish of Creck, Southerland Co., Scotland. When he was 22 years of age he went to Canada, from where he came to Clark County about 40 years ago. At the time he came here he located on what is known as the Bachhuber farm. He was never married and has no surviving relatives that are known of.
The funeral was held last Monday from the Veefkind Church, conducted by C. M. Taylor of Loyal. By special request before he died, Rev. Hillman of Marshfield held the fuenral service.
