Theo B. Hoffstatter 1919-2002

Theo B. Hoffstatter, 83, Stanley, passed away on December 22 at the August Area Nursing Home in Augusta. Theo was born on March 1, 1919, in Hancock, Minn, the son of guy and Chloe (Bowser) Hoffstatter. As a boy he came to Stanley, later moving to Bloomer where he grew up. He attended area schools and graduated from Bloomer High School, where he played football and hockey.

On June 1,4, 1941, he was united in marriage to Donna Mae Simenson in Stanley. He ran his own milk hauling business for a number of years and worked at Klauck Motors and operated the Sinclair Station, also in Stanley. In 1963, he started West Side Service, which he ran for many years. He started the Stanley Auto Exchange. He also took care of the Stanley-Boyd school buses until a facility was built. He also worked at the Northern Center for the Developmentally Disabled.

Theo is survived by his children: "unreadable" Pete (Jan) Hoffstatter of Stanley, Toby Hoffstatter of Stanley, and "Illegible" (Cheri) Hoffstatter, also of Stanley, 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Theo was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna Mae, in 1998; his three sisters, Lorreine, Helen, and Ione.

Funeral services were held in Dec. at Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley. Pastor Craig Lindgren officiated. Burial will be at a later date in the Cemetery in Stanley.
