Whitcomb, Mary I. (Marriage - 27 Augl 1913)
A very popular and pretty wedding took place at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in this city, at nine o'clock on Wednesday morning, Aug. 27, 1913, when Miss Mary Irene Whitcomb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Len Whitcomb, became the bride of John Stoltz. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Father Kieffer in the presence of a large number of relatives and friends of the young couple.
After the ceremony the young couple with relatives and attendants repaired to the home of the bride's parents, where a sumptuous wedding dinner was served. In order to escape the attentions of their many friends who had prepared the usual rice, etc., to give them a fitting send off, they left in the afternoon by auto for Butternut where they took the train for Ashland.
They will spend a couple of weeks visiting with relatives and friends at Minneapolis, St. Paul, Stillwater, and Duluth, after which they expect to return to Park Falls to take up their residence.
The bride was the recipient of many beautiful and costly gifts, testifying to the high esteem in which she is held in this community and their host of friends will join with the Herald in extending hearty congratulations and wishing Mr. and Mrs. Stoltz bon voyage on the sea of matrimony.
