Alton, Isabell (16 MAR 1829 - 2 Jan 1915)
Mrs. Isabell Alton passed away in death at the home of her son, Mr. George Anderson, of this village (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.), Saturday morning at quarter to nine, at the age of eighty-five years, nine months and seventeen days. Her death was due to old age and a complication of diseases.
Isabel Frater was born in Scotland, March 16, 1829, and came to America with her parents when she was eight years old, settling in New York. Later the family moved to Hartford, Wis., where she lived until eleven years ago, when she came to Loyal to make her home with her son George.
Deceased was a kind and affectionate mother, a good neighbor and a faithful and consistent Christian. Her life was a continuous round of good and faithful work for the welfare of her family, and her memory will ever linger in the hearts of those who knew her best.
She is survived by one son, George Anderson of our village and two brothers, Joseph Frater of Berkley, Cal., and James Frater of Browns Valley, Minn., and a host of friends.
The funeral took place Monday afternoon at the home of her son, Rev. W. P. Powell officiating. Tuesday morning the body, accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Anderson, was taken to Hartford for burial.
