Miles, Caroline (8 OCT 1853 - 26 NOV 1915)

Miss Caroline Spears was born in Dane Co., Wis., Oct. 8, 1853. She died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Howard Miles, Nov. 26, 1915.

Deceased lived in Dane Co. until her marriage to Mr. Wm. T. Miles Nov. 28, 1867. In 1868 they came to Loyal, Clark County, Wis. and took up a homestead 8 1/2 miles southeast of Loyal. In 1908 they retired from the farm and moved to the village and for the past year Mrs. Miles has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Howard Miles on a farm 1 1/2 miles northeast of Loyal.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and seven children who are as follows: Mrs. Charles Townsend, Withee, Wis., Mr. Wm. Miles Jr., Mrs. John Frasier, Mrs. Walter Drake and Mrs. Howard Miles all of this vicinity, Mrs. Price Cook of Earl, N. D., and Miss Lillian Miles of Minneapolis.

Her children, all but Mrs. Price Cook, were at her bedside when she passed into the great beyond. She had been ailing for some time. The immediate cause of her death was a paralytic stroke caused from hemorrhage of the brain.

The funeral was held last Sunday morning at 10 o'clock from the house with interment in the Loyal Cemetery, Rev. Powell officiating.
