Beaver, Bertha (Marriage - 15 JUN 1915)
The St. Balthasar's Catholic Church was the scene of a pretty wedding Tuesday morning, June 15, 1915, at 9 o'clock, when Mr. P. J. Schmitz of California, and Miss Bertha Beaver of the town of Loyal, Clark County, Wis., were united in marriage, Rev. Stenz performing the sacred ceremony.
The bride was attired in a beautiful traveling suit of blue and was attended by Miss Francis Bertz as maid of honor, who also wore a traveling suit. The groom was attended by Mr. Wm. Beaver, brother of the bride.
Immediately after the ceremony the happy couple, together with the witnesses went to Neillsville, where they had their picture taken. Upon their return a sumptuous wedding dinner was served to only near relatives at the bride's home.
The bride is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Beaver of the town of Loyal, and is a young lady of many graces of mind and person, who is capable of filling the home she will adorn with happiness and will prove to be truly a helpmate and companion by the husband she has chosen to honor with her hand.
The groom is from one of our best families and is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Schmitz of our village. He is considered one of the substantial and coming young men of California, where he is employed as electrical engineer, who will mark his work as a worthy son of honorable parents.
The young couple expects to leave Saturday for their future home at Orcutt, Cal.
The congratulations on the happy event are numerous and this paper is greatly pleased on this occasion to add its hearty good wishes to those being freely extended.
