Wucki, Walter (14 June 1888 - 12 December 1980)
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, December 15, for Walter Wucki, 92,
a former Town of Washburn farmer and tavern keeper. Wucki passed away at
Pleasant Acres Health Care Center in Oshkosh where he had been a resident for
the past few years.
The Rev. Joseph Henseler of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville officiated
at the funeral service held at Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Burial was
made in the parish cemetery.
The deceased was born on June 14, 1888, in Poland to Stanley and Amelia (Yung)
Wucki. After receiving his education in Poland, he moved to the United States
and settled in Chicago. On August 10, 1910, he married Mary Pociask in Chicago
and then worked there until moving to the Town of Washburn where he farmed. He
also operated a tavern at Day Corners in Town of Levis for many years. In recent
years, he made his home in Oshkosh with his son due to failing health.
Surviving him is one daughter, Mrs. John (Helen) Cook, Oshkosh, one son,
Bernard, Oshkosh; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He was
preceded in death by his wife, August 9, 1971, and by one son Robert.
