Marquardt, Fredrick W. (20 March 1887-13 July 1983)

EDGAR-- Fredrick W. Marquardt,, 96, Route 1, Edgar, Town of Wien, died Wednesday evening at his home. He had been ill health for the past six months.

Services will be Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Milan. The Rev, Rodger Moldenhauer will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Gilles & Son Funeral Home, Athens.

He was born March 20, 1887 in the Town of Green Grove, Clark County, to Mr. and Mrs. Ferdinand (Louisa Pribernow) Marquardt. He married Meta Bahn June 28, 1916 in Green Grove, Route 2, Colby. She died in August 1965. They had farmed in the Town of Bern from 1920 to 1964. For the past six months he had lived with his daughter Mrs. Edward Kalepp at Route 2, Athens.

A former supervisor for the Town of Bern, and a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Mr. Marquardt is survived by a son, Donald of Route 3, Athens; three daughters, Mrs. Edwin Schultz of the Town of Halsey, Mrs. Edward Kalepp of Route 2, Athens and Mrs. Merle Kettelhohn of Mayville; a brother Benjamin of Abbotsford; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
