TRIBUNE (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) 03/23/1916 Ehlert, Karl (6
AUG 1854 - 19 Mar 1916) Mr. Karl Ehlert,
an old resident of this vicinity, passed away in death Sunday
evening, March 18, 1916, at 10:00 o'clock, at his home one mile
east of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. He had reached the age of
sixty-one years, seven months and thirteen days. Karl Friedrich
Ehlert was born on Aug. 6, 1854 at Schoenhagen, Pommern, Germany
and was united in marriage Oct. 2, 1879. This union was blessed
with eight children, of which one died in infancy. In 1881 the
family moved to America and at first made their home in Dodge
County, from where they moved to Loyal in 1882, since which time he
has been a resident of this vicinity. Deceased was a
sufferer for many years from cancer. He was a kind and affectionate
father, a good neighbor and a faithful Christian. His life was a
continuous round of good and faithful work for the welfare of his
family, in whose hearts his memory will ever linger. He leaves to mourn
his death, his wife, seven children, who are, Mrs. Wm. Rossow, Mrs.
Edward Komis, Emma, Frank, Herman, Otto and Albert Ehlert, two
brothers, August Ehlert of Beaver Dam, Wis. and William Ehlert of
the town of Loyal, two sisters, besides a host of other relatives
and friends. The funeral was
held yesterday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, from the Lutheran Church,
