Barnett, Sylva V. (29 Feb 1840 - 27 JUN 1916)

Mrs. Sylva V. Barnett was born in Vermont Feb. 29, 1840 and died at the home of her daughter in the town of Weston, Wis., June 27, 1916, aged 76 years and 4 months.

She came to Wisconsin with her parents when a child and settled in Manitowoc, where she lived till she grew to womanhood, and then moved to Wrightstown.

At this place on June 14, 1862, she was united in marriage to Mr. H. W. Barnett. They moved to Kansas in 1877 and lived there till 1901, when they settled in Wiston, Wis., where they lived until 1913, when they became residents of Loyal, Clark County, Wis.

It was while on a visit to her daughter's that she became suddenly ill and passed to the great beyond. She was a loving mother and a kind neighbor. She leaves to mourn her loss six daughters, Mrs. Ellen Clintsman and Mrs. Clara Bremer of Wiston, Mrs. Ettie Shonon of Beloit, Hattie Barnett at home, Mrs. Abbie Halt of Pine City, Minn., Mrs. Alma Babcock, Janesville, one son Warren at home, besides twenty-nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters.

The funeral services were ehld at the M. E Church in Loyal Friday afternoon, and she was buried beside her husband in the Loyal Cemetery.
