Mary Jane Byres was born in Deerfield, Portage Co., Ohio, on Oct. 29, 1850, and died of paralysis at her home in Park Falls, Wis., on Jan. 30, 1917, age 66 years, 3 months and 1 day.
When but a girl, deceased moved with her parents to Bryan, Ohio, and on March 23, 1871 was married to William H. Richards. To this union was born four children, two girls and two boys, one of the girls dying in infancy. Mrs. Richards suffered a stroke of paralysis on Jan. 2, 1916, and since then has been confined to the house and invalid's chair. On July 9, 1916, her husband passed away at their home in this city and was buried in Nola Cemetery.
The family came to Wisconsin in 1882, and to Park Falls two years ago.
The funeral will be held from the Congregational Church, Friday, Feb. 2nd, at 2 o'clock p.m. and burial will take place in Nola Cemetery by the side of her husband.
The sympathy and condolence of the entire city is extended to the bereaved sons and daughter in this, their hour of great sorrow. (Park Falls Herald)
Mrs. Richards was well known in this vicinity, having lived 3 1/2 miles northeast of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. for nearly thirty years.
