TRIBUNE (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) 03/01/1917 Goehring, George
(13 Feb 1866 - 24 Feb 1917) Mr. George
Goehring passed away at his home in the town of Beaver, Clark
County, Wis. Feb. 24, 1917. He had the grippe a year ago and never
seemed to recover from it, and for a number of months he has had
tuberculosis, from which he died, only being confined to his bed
two weeks. He was the son of Fred and Amelia Hempel Goehring, was
born in Iowa Feb. 13, 1866. When he was a year old, he came with
his parents to a farm near Random Lake. He was married in 1890 to
Miss Lizzie Melius of Sheboygan Co. and ten years later moved to
Clark County, Wis., where they have since resided. The funeral was
held at the house Tuesday, feb. 27th, by Rev. Trautman of
Marshfield and the remains were laid to rest in the Loyal Cemetery.
He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife, four sons, Walter, Otto,
Floyd and Harry; five daughters, Selma, Sara, Hulda, Florence and
Mrs. Lacy Philpott, his father, mother, two brothers, Wm. Goehring
of Random Lake, Fred Goehring of Latah, Wash., one sister, Mrs.
Charles Owen of Chicago, besides other relatives. Mr. Goehring was
a man of upright character, and had had many friends who admired
his honesty and integrity, and who will sincerely miss him as a
friend and neighbor. The family has the sympathy of all in their
