TRIBUNE (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) 05/10/1917 Rhode, Karl Martin
(5 NOV 1853 - 1 May 1917) Karl Martin Rhode
died at his home southwest of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. Tuesday
morning, May 1, 1917, after an illness of one week, aged 63 years,
5 months and 26 days. The deceased was
born in Bobitz, Mecklenburg, Germany Nov. 5, 1853, came to America
in 1881, settling first in Juneau, Dodge Co., later in Hartford. In
1899 he came with his family to Clark County, Wis., settling on the
farm where he has lived ever since. In 1882 he was married to Miss
Lizzie Henning and to this union was born six children, two having
preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn
his loss, his wife, three sons, Edward, Arthur and Earl, one
daughter, Mrs. Anna Meyer of Greenwood, Clark County, two brothers
and one sister. He was a man that was respected by all. The funeral
was held at the Lutheran Church on Thursday afternoon, Rev. E.
Kemena officiating, and he was laid to rest in the Lutheran
Cemetery. The sympathy of many friends is extended to the family in
