TRIBUNE (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) 03/04/1920 Rankin, Esther
(1892? - 1 Mar 1920) Died, at her home
in this city (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) Monday, March 1, 1920,
Mrs. Ray E. Rankin, aged 27 years. Seldom has it been
our duty to record so sudden a death and on Monday when the fact
became known, a feeling of deep sorrow spread over the entire
community. She was of an unusually sunny disposition, bright and
winning in her ways, so that she made friends with everyone. Esther Reed Rankin
was born in Chicago and received her education there, being a
graduate of the Lewis Institute. Nine years ago she
was married to Ray E. Rankin, they moving to a farm near Grand
Rapids, where they lived for eight years. Since last May they have
lived in Loyal, Clark County, Wis. Last week she was
taken sick with influenza and on Friday gave birth to a daughter,
the little one dying. Mrs. Rankin grew
gradually worse until Monday, when death claimed her. Among us all she
ranked as a kind neighbor and friends and her memory will be one
which will last through many years to come. She is survived by her
husband, father, mother and one sister. She was a member
of the Royal Neighbor Lodge. The funeral
services were held at the home Thursday forenoon and she was laid
to rest in the Loyal Cemetery beside her baby. The sympathy of
many friends is extended to the relatives in their bereavement. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
