Motschenbacher, Dorothy (3 Apr 1840 - 25 Mar 1920)

Mrs. Joseph Motschenbacher Sr. died at her home in Loyal, Clark County, Wis., early Thursday morning March 25 of pneumonia, at the age of 79 years, 11 months and 22 days.

Dorothy Friedman was born at Bavaria, Germany.

She was united in marriage to Joseph Motschenbacher at Bavaria June 24, 1861. In 1874 they came to America, coming first to Buffalo Co., Wis., where they lived until 29 years ago when they moved to Clark County, Wis., settling on a farm southwest of this village. About six years ago they moved to this village, where they have since resided.

Mrs. Motschenbacher was a kind and loving mother and a good neighbor, always ready to do an act of kindness for anyone in need.

She leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, Chris of Alma Center, Joseph Jr. of Loyal, one daughter, Mrs. L. Schweiger of Loyal, ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild, besides a large number of friends.

The funeral services were held at the Catholic Church in this village at nine o'clock Saturday morning, Rev. Joseph F. Stenz officiating. She was laid to rest in the Catholic Cemetery.
