TRIBUNE (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) 09/02/1920 Davel, Amelia (11
MAR 1840 - 25 Augl 1920) Mrs. Amelia Davel
was born in Germany March 11, 1840 and died at her home in this
village Wednesday morning, Aug. 25, 1920. In the year 1873 she was
married in Germany to John Davel, they coming to this country
forty-five years ago, settling in Two Rivers, where they lived for
a time, later living at Hilbert, Marshfield and Spencer. Twenty
years ago they came to Loyal, Clark County, Wis. Mr. Davel preceded
her in death by 14 years. She is survived by five sons, Albert,
Charles and Joseph of Loyal, John of Spencer and George of
Stratford, also by three brothers, John and Julius Gruman of Two
Rivers and Albert Gruman of Germany, besides twenty-three
grandchildren and a large circle of friends. Mrs. Davel was
remarkably active in body and bright in mind, a very industrious
woman, always helping others and ready to do a kindness to anyone
so that her death is felt as a personal bereavement in many homes
in this vicinity. The funeral was
held from the Catholic Church Friday morning at nine o'clock, Rev.
Joseph F. Stenz officiating and she was laid to rest in the
Catholic Cemetery. Those from away who attended the funeral were:
John Davel and family of Spencer, George Davel and family of
Stratford and Messrs. John and Julius Gruman of Two Rivers. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
