TRIBUNE (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) 09/23/1920 Darton, Amelia (9
NOV 1853 - 12 Sep 1920) Mrs. Wm. Darton
died at Berthold, N.D. on Monday Sept. 12, 1920, after an illness
that has extended over a year. Amelia Sheldon was
born Nov. 9, 1853 at Linden, Sheboygan, Co., Wis., and lived there
with her parents until 1872, when she came to Clark County, Wis..
She was a successful teacher in the schools of Sheboygan Co., and
also in this county. In 1875 she was
married to Wm. Darton, they making their home in the town of
Beaver, Clark County on a farm until about fourteen years ago, when
they moved to this village. Among us all she
ranked as a woman of refinement and sympathy, a true Christian and
a kind neighbor and friend. Her memory will be on which will last
through many years to come. She is survived by
her husband, one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Hillis of Berthold, N.D., and
one granddaughter, one daughter having preceded her in death
several years ago, besides four sisters, Mrs. L. Hutchins of Loyal,
Mrs. Ella Cook, Oregon, Mrs. Betsy Roscow, Idaho, and Mrs. Emily
Hollensteiner of Oakland, Cal., besides other relatives. The funeral
services were held at Berthold on Wednesday afternoon, with burial
in the Berthold Cemetery. The family has the
sympathy of all in their bereavement. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
