(30 Apr 1865 - 24 Mar 1921) Mr. Frank Shupe
died at his home in this village March 24, 1921, after a short
illness of pneumonia, at the age of 55 years, 10 months and 24
days. Benjamin Franklin
Shupe was born at Auburn, Fond du Lac Co., April 30, 1865. At the
age of seven years he came to Loyal, Clark County, Wis. with his
parents, settling on the farm situated one mile north of Loyal,
where he lived until three years ago, when he moved to the village,
where he has since been engaged in business. He was united in
marriage in 1889 to Miss Julia Emerson. To this union ten children
were born, three sons and seven daughters, Lee, Mrs. Vernard
Kauffman, Glenn, Mrs. Jesse Raab, John, Helen, Ione, Nettie, Mabel
and Elsie, who with the wife are left to mourn his loss. Besides,
he leaves three grandchildren, one brother and sister at Castle
Rock, Wash., one sister at Chicago and one at Neillsville. Mr. Shupe was a
successful businessman, was a director of the Loyal State Bank and
active in an enterprise for the community good. He will be greatly
missed. The funeral
services were held at the M. W. A. Hall Monday afternoon at 2
o'clock, Rev. Bickell officiating. The services were largely
attended by friends and members of the Maccabee Lodge, of which the
deceased was a member. Interment took place in the Loyal
