TRIBUNE (Loyal, Clark County, Wis.) 07/02/1920 Boughton, Ivah E.
(Marriage - 30 JUN 1920) A very pretty
wedding occurred at the Methodist Church in Loyal, Clark County,
Wis. at 8:30 in the evening on Wednesday, June 30, 1920, when Miss
Ivah E. Boughton and Mr. Frank G. Wehling were united in the holy
bonds of matrimony, Rev. Chatterson officiating. The church had
been beautifully decorated for the occasion and just as twilight
was falling at the end of a perfect day, the church doors were
opened and strains of soft music were heard as the wedding party
entered. The bridal couple
was attended by Miss Elizabeth Fauss and Miss Bertha Morse of
Kilburn, Wis., cousins of the bride, who acted as bridesmaids. The groom was
attended by George Boughton, brother of the bride, and his brother,
Albert Wehling. The bride wore a
beautiful gown of white georgette and satin. Her long tulle veil
hung from a cap of Maybells. She carried a shower bouquet of white
roses, lilies of the valley and swainsons. The bridesmaids
were also very prettily gowned. Miss Fauss wore a dress of pink
georgette and carried an arm bouquet of ophelia roses and ferns.
Miss Morse wore a dress of blue georgette and satin and carried an
arm bouquet of cream ophelia roses and ferns. The bride was
preceded down the aisle of the church by Elsie Wehling, niece of
the groom and Louie Mathwig, niece of the bride, who acted as
flower girls. They were attired in white organdie dresses and
carried large baskets of pink roses. This undoubtedly was the most
beautiful wedding ceremony that ever took place in this
vicinity. A solo "Oh Promise
Me", sung by Miss Verna Jackson, aided greatly in beautifying the
services. After the ceremony
a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. A
delicious dinner was served to relatives and intimate friends. The
house was beautifully decorated with pin and white roses and ferns.
A color scheme of pink, white and green predominated. The evening
was most pleasantly spent with music. Those present had a most
enjoyable time. The bride is the
youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Boughton, although living
here only a few years has gained by her quiet refined manner, her
loving disposition and beautiful character, a wide circle of
friends. The groom is the
son of Mrs. John Wehling, a modest quiet young man of sterling
qualities. After a wedding
trip to the Wis. Dells, Madison and Milwaukee, they will be at home
on the groom's farm. The happy young
couple was the recipient of many useful and beautiful presents and
the best wishes of the community go with them for a long and happy
journey on the matrimonial sea. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
