Guenther, Lydia (3 October 1895 – 26 December 1980)
A town of Lynn native, Mrs. Lydia Guenther, 85, passed away on Friday, December
26, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Mrs. Guenther, a Marshfield resident at the time of her death, was born on
October 3, 1895, in the Town of Lynn to Ernest and Ernestine (Roder) Nitschke.
She received her education in township schools and then on June 4, 1918, she
married William Guenther in American Lutheran Church services. The couple
resided in the Town of Lynn for a number of years and then moved to Marshfield
in the 1950s.
Surviving her, besides her husband, are four grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Elsie)
Dux and Mrs. Bert (Lenora) Vorpagel, both of Neillsville, and a brother, Arnold
Nitschke of Granton. She was preceded in death by one son.
Funeral services were to be held Tuesday, December 30, from Zion American
Lutheran Church with the Rev. Maynard Stokka officiating. Burial was to be made
in the church cemetery. The Gilbertson Funeral Home was in charge of
arrangements. Serving as pallbearers were Oscar, Reinhold, Carl, Martin and
Edward Krause and Walter Roder. Organist for the service was Jay Parker.
