Johnson, Nels (3 OCT 1852 - 19 Mar 1917)
Nels Johnson, aged 59 (age must be wrong based on birth date) years, farmer near Curtiss, Clark County, Wis., committed suicide by hanging himself in his woodshed about 6 o'clock Monday morning. He had gotten up in the morning as usual and started for the barn to feed the stock. When he failed to come to breakfast at the accustomed time his son went to the barn to ascertain the reason. After calling and searching the barn he looked into the woodshed and found his father hanging with his feet touching the ground. It can be noticed that he struggled considerably after the slipknot had tightened about his neck. It is though that poor health caused him to take his own life.
Mr. Johnson lived here years ago when the charcoal kilns were in operation and is well known by many in this vicinity. He is survived by a wife and two sons.

Thank you for sending this to me. Unfortunately I'm not sure if he is connected to the Johnsons that I am searching for. I have not come across his name in connection with my ancestors. I will keep this in mind in case I do.
Thanks again Marji
