PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 03/29/1917 Thygeson, Martin
(20 OCT 1849 - 18 Mar 1917) With the death of
Martin Thygeson, another of the pioneers of the town of Hull has
passed away. Mr. Thygeson was
born in Denmark Oct. 20, 1849. At the age of 21 years he came to
America, making Racine, Wis., his home for some years. He was
united in holy wedlock to Miss Marie Thompson Dec. 24, 1874. To
this happy union three children were born. In 1877 they came to the
town of Hull, Marathon Co., where they resided on a farm until last
November, when on account of declining health he resolved to
retire, removing to Abbotsford, Wis. He failed very rapidly until
relieved by death last Sunday evening. He attained the age of 67
years, 4 months and 18 days. He leaves to mourn him the bereaved
widow, one daughter, Mrs. J. A. Young, who resided on the old
Thygeson homestead, a son, C. R., residing at Racine, and another
son of Proctor, Minn., besides a host of other relatives and
friends. The funeral
services, which were very largely attended, were conducted from the
Methodist Church in this city (Colby, Wis.), with interment in
Colby Cemetery, Rev. A. L. Scherry officiating. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
