PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 06/07/1917 Radtke, Ottelia
(11 Mar 1857 - 4 JUN 1917) Mrs. August Radtke
died at her home in the town of Colby, Clark County, Wis., June 4,
1917, of chronic Bright's disease. A few weeks ago
Mrs. Radtke and her husband, who is also suffering from an ailment,
went to Waukesha to seek relief by taking the mud baths and, after
taking the treatment a short time, it was evident that she was too
weak to continue. She was brought home a week ago last Friday and
gradually grew weaker and weaker until it was realized that the end
of earthly life for her was near. Ottelia Klickman
was born in Waukesha Co. on March 11, 1857, and was married to
August Radtke of Fond du Lac on Aug. 27, 1878. They came to Colby,
shortly after they were married and settled on the farm, which they
sold several years ago to Albert Staples. After selling this place
they moved onto the farm near Abbotsford, which has been their home
since. Three daughters
were born to them, Mrs. Caspar Helmes of Catawba, Mrs. Louis F.
Frome of the town of Colby, and Mrs. Henry Franz of the town of
Hull, Marathon, Co., who, with the husband an father, mourn the
loss of a devoted wife and mother. The funeral will
be held tomorrow (Friday) afternoon, from Zion's Lutheran Church in
this city, Rev. C. C. Hartenstein officiating, and the remains will
be place in the Colby Cemetery. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
