(1837? - 20 Jul 1917) John Vanderhyden
was born in Zeeland, Holland, about eighty years ago. He died at
his home in the town of Hull, Marathon Co., Wis., July 20, 1917 at
6:30 a.m. He came to this country with his parents when he was 11
years of age, the family settling at Little Chute, Wis. On June 21,
1874, he was united in marriage with Miss Susan Schuh at Appleton.
They made their home in Outagamie Co. until 1880, when they came
tot he town of Frankfort, Marathon, Co., living there until 16
years ago when they moved onto the farm in the town of Hull, which
has been their home ever since. He leaves a wife and one daughter,
Miss Mayme, who has always resided with her parents. The funeral was
held from St. Mary's Church in this city (Colby, Wis.) last Monday
at 10 a.m., Rev. Henry Lachnit officiating. Interment took place at
Colby St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Those from out of
town to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kersten of
Wittenberg, Mr. and Mrs. Mat Schuh of Tigerton, Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Schuh, John and Tonie Schuh and Mrs. Anton Schuh of
Hortonville, and Gilbert Vanderhyden and daughter, Barbara, of
