PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 02/28/1918 La Budde, Sarah
(1852? - 22 Feb 1918) Although
inevitable, it is with regret that the Phonograph records the
passing of Mrs. Sarah La Budde, one of Colby's long time and most
respected residents, final dissolution coming last Friday, Feb. 22,
1918. Deceased was in the sixty-fifth years of her life and had
been a widow for many years. Mrs. La Budde came
to this city (Colby, Wis.) from Marshfield twenty-three years ago
and has ever been prominent in social and church circles until
within the past two years, during which period the condition of her
health has been such as to make it impossible for her to do active
work. The immediate
cause of death was chronic Bright's disease. Of the immediate
relatives who survive her there are three daughters, Mrs. William
Henkel of Park Falls, Mrs. H. J. Blanchard of Dickinson, N.D., and
Miss Bertha, who is at home in this city. She also leaves one
sister, Mrs. Mary Gohr, who resides in Schreiber, Ontario. Funeral services
were held from the home and from the Methodist Church Tuesday
afternoon and interment made in the Colby Cemetery. The grade schools
of the city were closed Tuesday afternoon out of respect for Miss
Bertha La Budde, who is teacher in one of the grades. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
