(1847? - 3 Mar 1918) Charles Landin, a
well known character in and about Colby, Wis. for the past fifteen
or twenty years, was suddenly stricken with cardiac insufficiency
and fell dead upon the sidewalk just as he was about to enter the
house of friends in this city at noon Sunday, March 3, 1918. For the past two
years Landin had been working at the Lamont farm near this city and
had walked in for a few hours visit but succumbed to the attack
before he was able to reach the door. The remains were
taken to the Lulloff undertaking rooms, where they were given
proper care until the arrival of the two daughters of the deceased
from Appleton and Junction City. The body was taken
Tuesday noon to Appleton, where interment was made in the family
burial lot in the Appleton Cemetery. Deceased was 70
