PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 03/07/1918 Winkel, Sophia M.
(22 Apr 1880 - 3 Mar 1918) Death invaded the
family circle at the home of Louis Winkel, Sunday eveing, March 3,
1918, and took away a patient, loving wife and mother. Mrs. Sophia Minnie
Winkel was in her thirty-eighth year, having been born in the town
of Burns, Henry Co., Ill., April 22, 1880. The family came tot he
town of Colby, Clark County, Wis. two years ago and since that time
have resided on a farm two miles southwest of this city, coming
here from Kewaunee, Ill. She is survived by
her husband and three children, and an aged mother, two brothers
and three sisters. The children are two sons, Raymond, aged 13,
Kenneth, 8 weeks, and one daughter, Hazel, aged 9 years. Death was caused
by pneumonia, and came after but a brief illness. The funeral was
held at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon from Immanuel Reformed Church
in this city and interment was made in the Colby Cemetery, Rev.
