PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 04/18/1918 Augustin, John Sr.
(4 Apr 1853 - 9 Apr 1918) After a continuous
residence in the town of Green Grove, Clark County, Wis., for more
than thirty-two years, John Augustin Sr., passed away Tuesday
morning at his home at Atwood in that town, at the age of 65 years,
the cause of death being cardiac failure due to pneumonia. Deceased was born
in Paduhn, Germany, April 4, 1853, and immigrated to the country in
1883, making his home for about a year in Sheboygan Co. On May 27,
1884, he was married to Miss Sophia Marks and immediately
afterwards came to the town of Green Grove, where he has since
resided, opening up one of the finest farms in that territory. Besides his
sorrowing wife he leaves five children, four sons and one daughter.
Of these the daughter, Mrs. Alfred Burkhardt, resides at Thorp, and
the four sons, John, Fred, Albert and Ernest, are all at the home
in Green Grove. The funeral was
held Tuesday from the Lutheran Church, Rev. Behrendt officiating,
