Butler, whose funeral was held from St. Mary's Catholic Church in
the city of Colby, Wis., Wednesday, May 29, had been a resident of
the town of Unity, Clark County, Wis. for many years. She was born
in the town of Herman, Sheboygan Co., Wis. March 16, 1861, and was
married to Abe Butler in St. Mary's Church at Colby in 1891,
passing away at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield after an
illness of six or seven weeks. She was a member of the Christian
Mothers and of the local court of Lady Foresters, which
organization attended the funeral in body. Deceased leaves to
mourn her loss her husband and two children, one son, Earl, and one
daughter, Ruth, all of who are at home on the farm. There are also
three sisters and two brothers, Mrs. B. Schemmer, Chilton; Mrs.
James Dower, Milwaukee; Mrs. A. Anderson, Thorp; Joseph Hertel,
Sheboygan, John Hertel, Green Bay, all of who were here for the
funeral, except the last named. Other relatives here for the sad
event were Ed and Levi Butler, Mrs. Ida Shelley and son Clifford,
all of Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Florence Miller, a niece of the
