Obituary:

Norman William Thompson, 67, of Neillsville, Wisconsin died suddenly on Thursday September 11, 2003. He was born September 15, 1935 in Neillsville, Wisconsin to Forest and Isabelle (Skar) Thompson. He graduated from Neillsville High School in 1953. Hew was involved in school sports.

He was married to Ann M. (Turville) Thompson on November 9, 1957 in Neillsville, Wisconsin. He resided in Rockford, IL and worked 30 years for Sundstrand in Rockford, IL. After working 30 years with Sundstrand as a tool and die maker, he returned to Neillsville to build a campground with his wife, Ann. Together, they managed Norm and Ann's Campground for 18 years.

Norm loved fishing, hunting and camping. He always looked forward to meeting new people while he managed his campground. He and his wife, Ann, also traveled extensively for years. He enjoyed playing dominoes, cards, and other games with his many friends and family members. He especially loved dancing plkas and waltzes at the Silver Dome Ballroom.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Neillsville, Wisconsin where he was involved in forming the Methodist Men's Breakfast, and he participated in other church renovation projects.

He assited in the reconstruction of the Snyder Dam Project.

He is survived by his wife, Ann (Truville) Thompson, three children: Brian (Shirley) Thompson of Lake Zurich, Clyde (Lynette) Thompson of New Orleans, Louisiana, and June Thompson of Neillsville, WI, and four grandchildren: Sean Thompson, Amber Thompson, Rebecca Bayer Thompson, Carole Ayers, Marie (Ron) Henning, Glenn Thompson, all of Neillsville.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Forest and Isabelle (Skar) Thompson, three brothers: Gordon Thompson, Philip Thompson, Charles Thompson.

Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 14, at Buchanan Funeral Home, Neillsville, WI.

Funeral Services were held MOnday Sept. 15, 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church, Neillsville, WI. Pallbearers were: Bob Bell, Arne Eisentraut, Tim Tresemer, Walter Karl, Fred Wagner, and Church Rendell. Rev. Craig Conklin Officiated. Music was provided by organist Pat Knudson for congregational singing. Burial was n Chapel Hill Cemetery Town of Weston.
