PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 05/03/1917 Shafer, Florence
E. (Marriage - 5 Jan 1917) The announcement
of the marriage of Miss Florence E. Shafer of this city (Colby,
Wis.), to Attorney John E. Hancock, formerly of Casey, Ill., has
not been entirely unexpected, but will, no doubt, be a surprise to
many. The marriage took place June 5th?? (Jan. 5th), in Illinois,
but the young couple did not wish to make it public until Mr.
Hancock had passed the state bar examination and had worked up a
profitable law practice. In January he accepted the offer of
partnership with Judge Brady of Haskell, Okla., where Mr. and Mrs.
Hancock will reside when the new home, now being built, is ready
for occupancy. Miss Shafer is the
only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Shafer and has always been held
in high esteem by all of her acquaintances. Mr. Hancock is a very
agreeable and energetic young man and is bound to succeed in his
chosen profession. Mr. and Mrs. Hancock have the very best wishes
of our community. © Every submission is protected by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act
