PHONOGRAPH (Colby, Wis.) 05/17/1917 Kleibenstein,
Mabel (Marriage - 2 May 1917) A pretty home
wedding took place Wednesday, May 2, 1917, at the country residence
of Mr. and Mrs. John Kleibenstein Jr., when their daughter Mabel
was united in marriage to Mr. Otto Janke of Owen, Clark County,
Wis., at five o'clock in the afternoon. The marriage
service was read by Rev. Boeger, pastor of the German Lutheran
Church, in the presence of about fifty relatives and friends. The bride was
attended by her sister Grace and the groom by his brother Robert.
The bride's gown was white voile trimmed with exquisite lace. She
carried a bridal bouquet of roses. The bridesmaid wore a gown of
white voile. The house was
decorated in pink and white carnations, sweet peas and roses being
used. The young couple received many valuable and beautiful gifts
from their friends. The groom's father
and brother were here from Owen for the wedding. An elaborate
wedding dinner was served by Mrs. Kleibenstein, such as has made
the Kleibenstein home famous. During the evening
many friends assembled at the home to offer congratulations to the
young people. They leave Monday
for Owen, where they will make their home. Mr. Janke is manager of
